Pien started Pien Studios by knitting bags in the spring of 2020. During this same period, at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, her friend Maxime was baking beautiful loaves of bread. Spending many days together, with conversations that naturally drifted toward creative ideas and dreams, the two landed on the idea of a bread and bags event, merging their passions in the most natural way.

In the summer of 2021, their friend Carmen opened the doors of her Amsterdam guesthouse, for what would become the very first Pien Studios event. Friends, friends of friends, and a room full of bread and bags.
